Telegram launches dating feature that helps find nearby public profiles

Although WhatsApp is the most widely used messaging application in the world, there are also millions of users of other services, mainly Telegram, considered a much more user-friendly option with privacy and data protection.

As if this wasn’t enough, Telegram has
announced the inclusion of some new features to try to attract more users; the
highlight of these new features is ‘People Nearby 2.0’, which allows users to
connect with nearby public profiles. Next, we’ll review the updates with which
Telegram hopes users get to know.

People Nearby 2.0

The first version of this feature allowed users to exchange information directly. For its part, this improved version works similarly to a dating app, which can make it easier to contact nearby users. The option is located in the Contacts menu. Telegram users who wish to meet people in nearby locations should enable the “Make Me Visible” feature, which will show their profile to the users around.

Through this feature, users will be able to
exchange messages with Telegram’s data protection measures. In addition, if
users so choose, the contact will remain even if they move away from their
current location or stop the application. If the user no longer wants to make
contact in this way, simply select the “Stop showing me” option at
any time.

New design in user
profiles

Telegram’s latest update includes improvements to the user profile, which will give easier access to photos and videos shared with the app, as well as greater options for viewing users’ profile photos.

Animated emojis

Telegram not only places special emphasis on the privacy and data protection experience, even the time has been given to implement some aesthetic improvements long awaited by users, such as animated emojis.

According to the International Institute of
Cyber Security (IICS), Telegram is trying to innovate and promote communication
between users for socialization purposes without care, presenting theself as a
safer option than others Messaging services, mainly Facebook Messenger and
WhatsApp, which continue to take over most users of instant messaging
applications.
