Tesla Sends Emails To Model Y Reservation Holders, Says Deliveries Soon

After finally getting permission to reopen, Tesla has started sending notification emails to Model Y reservation holders. The e-mail is aimed to inform customers that Tesla understands their patience and will inform them of the delivery dates “as soon as possible.”

According to Torque News, one of its subscribers sent them a copy of the notification email that read “We appreciate your patience and will contact you with available delivery dates as soon as possible.”

Tesla sent this email a mere day after the Fremont factory started producing cars.

Tesla Model Y Delivery To Be Completed Soon

On the 23rd of March 2020, Tesla stopped the production of all-electric cars, including the Model Y at its Fremont Gigafactory in Alameda county. For the entire month of April, Tesla didn’t produce a single car.

Tesla is a “demand strain” company, meaning it always needs to produce more cars than it currently can to achieve its targets. The month-long lockdown period only accelerated this problem for Tesla and its customers.

This is why as soon as the Fremont factory started, Tesla began sending emails to reservation holders. The customer who received this email had booked their Model Y in December 2019.

There is no specific date as to when the deliveries of Model Y electric cars will begin. However, Tesla will likely complete a huge chunk of deliveries before the Q2 2020, to make up for the lost time.

The Tesla Model Y is the latest electric SUV from the American EV maker. It is available in two variants, Long Range and Performance. A standard Model Y, along with a 7-seater version will launch in 2021.

The Tesla Model Y Long Range version comes with 316 miles of range, while the Model Y Performance version offers 315 miles of range.

A performance pack for the Tesla Model Y is also available which adds improved acceleration, bigger wheels, lowered suspension, and aluminum alloy pedals.
